EXION Face: Needle-Free Facial Rejuvenation and Skin Tightening
I use EXION Face to support skin quality, hydration and mild tightening of the face and neck, not to slim the face or create a dermal-filler effect. The treatment is needle-free, requires no anaesthesia and involves no routine downtime.

What Is EXION Face and How Does It Work?
EXION Face is a needle-free skin treatment that combines radiofrequency and ultrasound energy in one handpiece. It is intended to support the skin’s own renewal processes and address hydration, radiance, texture and mild laxity. No dermal filler is injected and no surgical incision is made.
I begin with the patient’s actual concern rather than the device name. Dullness, dehydration, fine lines and early mild laxity may be suitable for EXION Face. When there is marked descent or folded excess skin, I do not present a device treatment as equivalent to surgical facial or neck lifting.
Which Areas Can Be Treated With EXION Face?
I most often treat the cheeks, jawline, submental area and neck. Treating selected areas usually takes about 25 minutes, while a full-face session may take up to 45 minutes.
I do not automatically apply the same energy across the whole face. The area and treatment plan depend on skin thickness, the location of laxity and the patient’s main goal.
I do not use EXION Face to reduce facial fat. One reason I value this handpiece is its ability to support skin quality without uncontrolled loss of facial volume.
Who May Be Suitable for EXION Face?
Patients seeking better skin quality
It may be considered for dehydration, dullness, fine lines and a tired-looking complexion.
Patients with early mild laxity
It may form part of a plan for mild tightening of the facial oval, submental area or neck.
Patients who prefer no needles or filler
It suits people who want to support skin quality without adding facial volume.
Patients planning preventative care
I use it as part of an ongoing skin-quality programme rather than promising a dramatic one-off lift.
How Many EXION Face Sessions Are Recommended?
In my practice I recommend four sessions and plan a minimum of three, usually at intervals of approximately two weeks. One or two isolated sessions are not equivalent to a structured treatment course.
The place of treatment within the year also matters. I often plan EXION Face during summer and use EXION RF microneedling during winter when appropriate for the patient’s skin.
When Are EXION Face Results Visible?
I do not describe EXION Face as a treatment that guarantees a dramatic lift by a fixed date. Some patients notice earlier hydration, freshness or mild firmness, while the change may be more gradual and modest in others. Expectations should be based on the starting condition of the skin and its biological response.
For me, success is not limited to immediate tightness in the mirror. Healthier-looking, balanced skin, preservation of facial volume and a sustainable treatment plan are more realistic goals.
Does EXION Face Provide a Non-Surgical Facelift?
“Non-surgical facelift” is a phrase patients use when searching for these treatments. EXION Face may support mild tightening, but it does not surgically reposition descended tissues or remove excess skin. When facial descent, neck laxity or excess skin is marked, facelift and neck lift options need a separate discussion.
EXION Face vs Dermal Fillers and Botox
| Treatment | Main goal | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
| EXION Face | Skin quality, hydration and mild tightening | Does not add defined volume or relax expression muscles |
| Dermal filler | Volume and contour in selected areas | Is not the same as an energy-based skin programme |
| Botox | Reduces movement in selected expression muscles | Does not add volume or remove excess skin |
These treatments do not have to compete. Depending on the patient, I may combine EXION Face with Botox, skin boosters or mesotherapy as separate steps in a year-round treatment plan.
Downtime and Daily Life After EXION Face
The treatment is painless and I do not use anaesthesia. Patients can return to daily life immediately. Because there are no needles, the entry points or several days of visible reaction associated with RF microneedling are not expected. Temporary warmth or mild redness may nevertheless occur depending on skin sensitivity and energy settings.
EXION Face vs HIFU and Ultherapy
These are not different names for the same treatment. HIFU and Ultherapy are focused-ultrasound systems. EXION Face combines radiofrequency and ultrasound in a needle-free handpiece. I do not provide HIFU or Ultherapy in my clinic. I compare treatments by their energy, target tissue and realistic goal rather than presenting device brands as a competition. You can compare all four handpieces in the EXION treatment guide.
What Determines the Cost of EXION Face Treatment?
The cost depends on the number and size of the areas treated, whether selected cheek, jawline, submental or neck areas are planned or the full face is treated, and the total course of sessions. A clear plan and price can therefore be provided after skin assessment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is EXION Face?
It is the EXION platform’s needle-free handpiece, combining radiofrequency and ultrasound to support skin quality, hydration and mild tightening.
Does EXION Face reduce facial fat?
I do not use it for facial fat reduction. My goal is to support skin quality without uncontrolled loss of facial volume.
How many EXION Face sessions are needed?
I recommend four sessions and plan a minimum of three, usually around two weeks apart.
How long does an EXION Face session take?
Selected cheek, submental or neck areas usually take around 25 minutes; a full-face treatment may take up to 45 minutes.
Is EXION Face painful and does it require anaesthesia?
The treatment is painless and I do not use anaesthesia in my practice.
Does EXION Face provide a dramatic lift?
Mild tightening may occur, but a dramatic lift cannot be guaranteed. It is not equivalent to a surgical facelift or neck lift for marked laxity.
Is EXION Face a replacement for dermal filler?
No. Dermal filler adds volume to selected areas. EXION Face works on skin quality without injecting volume.
Can EXION Face be performed in summer?
It can be considered throughout the year according to the skin plan. I often use EXION Face during summer and EXION RF during winter.
Can EXION Face be combined with Botox or mesotherapy?
Yes. Botox, skin boosters and mesotherapy may be planned as separate complementary steps according to the patient’s needs.
Which skin concerns can EXION Face address?
It may be considered for dehydration, dullness, fine lines, reduced skin quality and early mild laxity.
Are EXION Face results permanent?
Skin continues to age, so the result does not remain unchanged for life. Longevity depends on skin quality, ageing and the wider maintenance plan.
Who may not be suitable for EXION Face?
It may be insufficient as a stand-alone treatment for marked tissue descent, folded excess skin or expectations that require a surgical lift. Medical suitability is assessed separately.
Does EXION Face produce a natural-looking result?
Because it does not inject filler volume, the goal is to support healthier and more rested-looking skin rather than change the shape of the face.
Why does the cost of EXION Face vary?
The treatment areas, their size and the planned number of sessions determine the scope and cost.
